Is the end of your Volkswagen lease approaching? Now is the time to consider your lease-end options. There are three ways to move forward at the end of your lease. You can trade in your vehicle and lease or buy a new VW, purchase your current vehicle, or simply turn in your VW to our dealership.

Regardless of where you leased your VW from initially, AutoNation VW Columbus can accept your vehicle and assist with the lease-end process. Below we've provided more information surrounding your end-of-lease options, and steps to follow if you do plan on turning in your vehicle.

VW Lease Return Process

If you plan on turning in your vehicle at the end of your lease, whether you are getting a new Volkswagen or not, here's what to do next:

1. The Inspection

   These inspections are free and they come to you - whether it be your home (someone 18 or older must be present), office, or our dealership. They're also a great way to receive a quick assessment of potential charges that you may owe at the end of your term. At this point, you'll have an opportunity to make repairs instead of being charged for them as excess wear.

2. The Repair (If Needed)

   You'll still have time to make repairs so that you won't incur additional fees upon turn-in. Repairs may be covered under warranty or by your auto insurance. If you have repair work done post-inspection, email the following items to repairreceipt@vwcredit.com before turning in your vehicle:

   • Repair order showing work performed and vehicle description
   • VIN and/or account number
   • Proof of payment
   • Date repair was completed

3. The Final Payment

   This is a reminder to make your final payment prior to turning in your vehicle. Have you deferred any payments during your lease? If so, in addition to your last monthly payment, your final payment will include these deferred payments. If you are enrolled in Auto Pay and you deferred any monthly payments, the automatic withdrawal or our final payment wIll Include your final monthly payment amount with these deferred payments.

4. The Turn-In

   Contact us to schedule an appointment. Make sure to bring all of the keys, remove any personal items from your vehicle, and disconnect any devices from the infotainment system.
